"Manhattan of Arabia"

The Shibam Villa was the first property acquired by the Universal Hotels Co. The Villa is situated in the valley of a million palm trees, adjacent to the walls of  Shibam, a recognized UNESCO world heritage site known as "Manhattan of Arabia", with some 500 mud skyscrapers within the city's walls.

This charming Villa has 7 rooms overlooking quiet gardens, yet is only a few kilometers away from Al Hawta, where our sister property Al Hawta Palace Hotel is located. From the veranda overlooking  the garden, one can contemplate what life must have been like in ancient times, when the camel caravans traveled up Wadi Hadhramawt  to Shibam, before continuing on their journey across the sands of Arabia to Shabwa where salt, once the most prized commodity of all joined the caravans on their journey north.
